Syrian Armed Conflict and Media

Since the Syrian uprising began on March 2011 , Bashar Al-Assad regime with all his power imposed media blackout in order to blur the facts and events concerning the conditions inside , while recruits the official Syrian media machine to mislead locally and internationally the public opinion .
Arab and international media has been barred from entering the country and dozens of media offices have been closed except for those how strived to present an exact version to the one monopolized by Official Syrian Media , for example Hezbollah Lebanese Media , Russian Media, and Iranian Media
This unprecedented situation of preventing rebels to express their voice and their real demands through regular channel effect the emerge of new phase in contemporary media known as citizen journalist and difficulties
Revolution activists are Alassad's number one enemies cause they expose the falsehood and lied allegations of Syrian official Media
They have systematically been subject to Al-Assad troops' fire even more than the armed rebels
Since the Syrian uprising in 2011, Al-Assad regime arrested more than 3500 media activist included correspondent , journalists ,and photographers and others, more than 8 of them tortured to death , more than 174 media activists have been killed by direct sniping or shelling
The main difficulties represented by turning off electricity and communications for long hours and consecutive days especially at times of committing massacres aimed for media blackout and shock absorption of the international community
All of the previous points effected the foreign media , Hero correspondents could enter the country , they insisted to transmit the real image of regime systematically and widely killed his people using various kinds of weapons, They made outstanding and amazing reports of detainees groans came out of dark prisons
Although the concern with Syrian affairs and this legendary historical Syrian Revolution is humble and doesn’t reach the required standards , there are a big sorrow by The Syrian People who still lines epic of in patience , steadfastness and sacrifice
At present we have a large liberated cites , journalists and Media can easily accessed to through border crossing with Turkey , and so many have done that , but nevertheless did not find humanitarian concern .
The biggest risk carried out by Media activists is being in Frontline in combat battlefields to convey the reality .
Journalists and photographers are the most pro-human rights issues, without their photos and videos , many of facts couldn’t be documented or reordered
Their role must be significantly and quickly activated in the next phase
